1. Sweep Them

First things first, you need to get the dirt off of your floors. Before you start mopping or shining your floors, though, you need to sweep them. Sweeping is better than vacuuming your floors because it's less likely to scratch them, and as long as you have a good broom, you can get all of the dust out from in between each wooden plank. When you are sweeping, try to go over your floors at least two or three times to really cut down on the dirt.

2. Mop Them

After you have gotten rid of all of the dust and dirt, you can start mopping them. But, because wood floors can get damage when they have too much soap or water on them, you need to invest in a floor cleaning solution that's designed specifically for wood floors. Usually, floor cleaning solutions will have oils that are specifically made for wood floors so that it doesn't cause water damage or any wear and tear. Just make sure that you don't leave the water on the floors for too long because that's what can really lead to a lot of damage.

3. Dry Them

Another thing that you should do is dry your floors. If the weather is nice outside, you can open some windows and let them dry naturally, but if it's stormy or windy outside, then you can dry them with an absorbent towel to soak up all of the moisture.

Getting clean floors isn't hard, but if you don't do it right, then you can cause a lot damage to them.
