To keep your carpet looking its best, you'll need to clean up after those messes as quickly as possible. Luckily, there are some steps you can take to beat spills. Grass Stains

If your kids play outside, it's just a matter of time before you get grass stains on your carpeting. Don't panic. Even if you have light-colored carpeting, you can still get rid of the stains.

Supplies You'll Need

  • Plastic mixing bowl
  • 2 cups of ice cold water
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent
  • ½ teaspoon of oxygenated stain remover
  • Clean cloth

Directions

  1. Fill your bowl with the ice cold water.
  2. Add your liquid laundry detergent and stain remover to the water.
  3. Mix well with your finger.
  4. Pour a small amount of the cleaning solution on the grass stain.
  5. Allow it to soak in for a minute or two.
  6. Use your clean cloth to carefully blot the stain.
  7. Be careful not to rub the area or you'll spread the stain.
  8. Repeat the process until the stain is completely gone.
  9. Allow the area to air dry.

Fruit Punch Stains

Supplies You'll Need

  • Large mixing bowl
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 4 teaspoons of liquid laundry detergent
  • 4 teaspoons distilled vinegar
  • Paper towels

Directions.

  1. Place 2 cups of cold water in your mixing bowl.
  2. Add your detergent and vinegar.
  3. Pour a small amount of the solution on to the stain and allow it to soak in for several minutes.
  4. Use your paper towels to carefully blot the area and remove the liquid.
  5. Repeat the process as needed to remove the stain from your carpet.
